WE DID IT! - The “Utah Bull-Moose Party” Ogden Valley’s “People’s Party” Achieves Necessary Number of Petition Signatures to Register!

The kids (Rough Riders) and I spent the winter having a ball promoting the Utah Bull Moose Party platform from our Mad Moose Café Campaign Headquarters here in Eden and throughout the streets of downtown Ogden.  We met with and listened to thousands of Utahans in subfreezing temperatures day after day.  No small task to be sure.  But uniquely rewarding participating in America’s 1st Amendment right to free speech.  Posturing with not just “our right” to free speech however, but also exercising social accountability and responsibility.  Yup, behaviors though hard to legislate are an absolute “must” that go hand in hand with our rights and Constitutional freedoms.  Good form, patience, and thoughtful cool headedness were the order of the day – every day – as it ought to be.

We made these efforts all with an eye toward registering The Utah Bull-Moose Party and getting on the ballot for the 2022 U.S. Senate seat currently held by Senator Mike Lee.  Why?  In a word “LEADERSHIP!”  That, and our position that we think we are a pretty dang AWESOME bunch of intelligent Rough Riders, and we are also an excellent alternative to the leadership we’ve all seen delivered in latest stretch of time – check us out online and see why we think you deserve better and why we think you are worth it!

So Mike, Arron, Trinity, Nallely, Jamie, Summer, Cami, Gavin, Sara and scores of others who spread the word and drove support “Did It!”  Though the Utah Bull Moose Party represents a deep and comprehensive vision that aims to inspire the hopes of all Americas toward a bright future, our petition drive hung its hat on the long overdue need to reform health care.  Reform both Republicans and Democrats have failed spectacularly to deliver on.  Health care for working moms and dads, small business folks, veterans, and others that continue to go under served and can, if properly managed, work for all Americans within the budgets we already have.

You Betcha Baby, we’re dead serious about it.  Just like Teddy, we’re about throwing it out there, taking chances, making a difference, getting “In the Arena” and supporting women’s suffrage (uh, women’s’ right to vote!).  Call us crazy!  Call us “Progressives” Call us when you need a sandwich TOO!

Now, don’t make me spell out the reference to women’s suffrage – if you need a lesson on this come to The Mad Moose and share a Cup of VICTORY with The Colonel, me, and I’ll tutor you.  Let’s just say if you think we are progressive, we’ll remind you that our 26th President, Colonel Theodore Roosevelt, was a Republican and advocated for women’s right to vote.  So, for the ladies, I’m inclined to remind your male friends, before they alienate half the American electorate, that 50% of the voting power in the United States resides in the control of fairer gender.  Put that in your Mint Julep and smoke it!

Alas, the Lieutenant Governor’s office has pushed back on the threat of our small, but comprehensive, package of petitions.  The elections office has produced upon our petition package submission a portion of Utah State Code that says, “sorry, you have missed a submission deadline.  Nice!  This, despite that fact that the Utah 2020 Candidate Manual we followed makes no reference to “said” Utah Code reference (20A-8-103 (2) (a) and (b)).  And the fact we stayed in close contact with the Office of Elections at the Utah State Lieutenant Governor’s office that included a meeting as early as October 6th with key staff for the purpose of assuring that we were proceeding appropriately.

But not to be deterred in our efforts, and in keeping with our campaign motto “Never Give Up” not only have we asked the Lieutenant Governor for a waiver to accept our petitions, we will progressively ask the State of Utah Attorney General and Governor Cox for the same if needed.  And, even if all that fails, we will still register to be on the 2022 ballot – albeit symbolic since if you are not aligned with a political party or have an egregiously high threshold number of petition signatures, your name does not even appear on the ballot in the ballot box on voting day – only the hollow consolation of the status of a write-in candidate – which we’ll indeed pursue.

So, stay tuned, “Never Give Up” and when you pass by The Mad Moose throw us a “honk” of support for standing up for Americas and Utah’s interests for the next 100 years!  Oh, and take a look at the depth of our platform at www.UtahBullMooseParty.com, you may like what you see.
